Love and Deepspace Developer Backtracks on Valko Introduction

Infold, the developer behind the popular otome game Love and Deepspace, has announced that they will no longer be introducing the new love interest Valko as part of the game’s upcoming Version 6.0 update.

The news comes after a significant backlash from the Chinese fanbase, who expressed their disappointment and frustration with the decision to introduce Valko. Despite the controversy, Infold has confirmed that the rest of the Version 6.0 update will still be released as planned, including the Home 2.0 and AR Photobooth features.

The developer has apologized for their earlier decision to introduce Valko and has acknowledged that they were not fully prepared to handle the introduction of the new character. In a statement, Infold said: ‘We let down the players who have supported us from the start, and we also fell short of delivering the experience that players anticipating Valko deserved.’

Infold has promised to focus on further developing the stories and long-term companionship experiences of the game’s existing five love interests. The developer has also stated that they will prioritize a stable pace of Main Story production and updates.

The news has been met with disappointment by the North American Love and Deepspace community, who had been eagerly anticipating the introduction of Valko. A petition has been launched, calling on Infold to reconsider releasing Valko on the game’s global servers. At the time of writing, the petition has garnered over 42,000 signatures.

Love and Deepspace has seen significant success since its launch in January, with over 31 million downloads and user spending exceeding $1 billion. The game currently features five existing love interests: Rayfael, Xavier, Zayne, Sylus, and Caleb. The developer has promised to continue supporting the game and its community, despite the controversy surrounding Valko’s introduction.

Infold’s statement has sparked a heated debate within the Love and Deepspace community, with some players expressing their support for the developer’s decision and others calling for the introduction of Valko to be reinstated.

In an effort to make amends, Infold has announced that the rewards planned for the Valko-focused Hunt In Linkon event will be given to players for free via in-game mail, along with free Deepspace Wishes. The developer has also promised to continue engaging with the community and addressing their concerns.
