The American League team, managed by Larry Bowa, dominated the National League team, led by Shane Victorino, with a 6-1 win in the seven-inning affair. This marked the first time since 2022 that the AL has prevailed in the Futures Game.
Top Prospects Steal the Show
Several top prospects stood out in the game, showcasing their exceptional skills and potential for future stardom. One of the most impressive performances came from Jesús Made, a 19-year-old shortstop from the Brewers, who is widely considered the top prospect in baseball. Made, who turned 19 in May, has been dominating at Double-A this season, slashing .276/.347/.442 with 28 extra-base hits and 26 stolen bases in 76 games.
Another standout performer was Kade Anderson, a 22-year-old left-hander from the Mariners, who is in the running for the best pitching prospect in baseball. Anderson, the No. 3 pick of the 2025 Draft, has blown away the Texas League with a 1.36 ERA and 108 strikeouts against just 10 walks in 72 ⅔ innings. He faced off against Made in the first inning, feeding him three straight 95-mph fastballs, but Made came out on top with a single to right.
Leo De Vries, a 19-year-old shortstop from the Athletics, also impressed with his skills on the field. De Vries, who was acquired from the Padres in the Mason Miller trade, has been making waves at Double-A this season, with 11 homers, 14 doubles, an .821 OPS, and 31 steals in 75 games. He flashed his contact skills and speed on the bases in the first inning of the Futures Game, stealing two bases after his leadoff single.
