Attempted Home Invasion Rocks NFL Star’s Neighborhood

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and his family narrowly escaped harm after an attempted home invasion early Saturday morning in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania. According to the Tredyffrin Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. when an unknown individual or individuals attempted to break into the Barkley residence.

Captain Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department stated, ‘We know there’s more than one, but we’re still trying to determine how many were involved.’ Moyer further emphasized that all occupants in the home were physically unharmed but undoubtedly shaken by the ordeal.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office has also weighed in on the incident, stating, ‘We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident.’ The district attorney’s office is urging the public to assist in identifying those responsible by reviewing any home security footage in the area around 5:00 a.m. If you have any information or footage that may aid investigators, please contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately.

Pattern of Burglaries Targets High-Profile Athletes

This attempted home invasion is the latest in a string of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes. In January 2025, four men were arrested in connection with a burglary at Joe Burrow’s home. In February 2025, the United States charged seven people in connection with burglaries targeting Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr., Dallas Stars player Tyler Seguin, and Miami Heat player Bobby Portis.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department is collaborating with federal law enforcement to determine if the attempted burglary at the Barkley residence is connected to the other high-profile athlete burglaries.

Captain Moyer noted, ‘We will look at all angles of this because we know, obviously, it’s been all over the news in the past few years about different professional athletes’ homes getting burglarized.’

The investigation into the attempted home invasion is ongoing. Police are currently in pursuit of a white SUV and two suspects believed to have participated in the alleged crime.
