Venture Global Sees 24% Gain in July Amid Escalating Geopolitical Tensions

The recent surge in energy prices has sent Venture Global’s stock soaring by 24% in July, with investors rotating their portfolios into energy stocks amid escalating geopolitical tensions.

As of Friday, Bloomberg data showed that August Henry Hub natural gas futures traded up by 1.85% to $2.91, driven by concerns over tighter global gas supplies.

Crude benchmarks also jumped sharply, with Brent climbing by 4.59% to $88.10 and West Texas Intermediate increasing by 4.48% to $82.49 – both at their highest levels in about a month.

The latest surge in energy prices was sparked by renewed tensions between the US and Iran, following a missile attack that damaged a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait.

According to President Donald Trump, the US has reinstated the Iranian blockade in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran allegedly violated the ceasefire terms by continuing to attack or threaten commercial ships and conducting military operations despite the agreement.

Iran, which sits along a chokepoint through which roughly 20% of the global crude oil supply passes, said that it holds authority over the waterway.

As a result, the twin wars have emerged as a tailwind for energy stocks, with their earnings closely tied to higher natural gas prices and robust global demand.

Venture Global Inc. (NYSE:VG) is up by 24% this month alone, and in the first quarter of the year, the company delivered a 23% jump in its net income to $488 million from $396 million in the same period last year.

Revenues also surged by 59% to $4.599 billion from $2.894 billion year-on-year, with the company exporting 130 cargoes and selling 481 TBtus of liquefied natural gas – a new quarterly record and a 111% jump from the first quarter of 2025.

With elevated geopolitical tensions persisting throughout the entire second quarter, investors are placing bets that April to June could deliver another jump in earnings when Venture Global Inc. (NYSE:VG) reports the results.

The company is scheduled to announce the results of its earnings performance for the period before the market opens on Tuesday, August 11, with a conference call to be held to discuss the results.

Venture Global Inc. (NYSE:VG) saw a significant jump in hedge fund participation in the first quarter of the year, signaling that institutional investors have become substantially more bullish on the stock.

Based on data from Insider Monkey, 50 hedge funds held a stake in the company during the period, markedly higher than the 22 in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Their combined holdings also soared by 683% to $838.5 million from only $107.1 million quarter-on-quarter.
