Following the recent announcement that Chloe Fineman was leaving NBC’s Saturday Night Live after seven seasons, she has already secured her next role. Fineman will star alongside Jabari Banks in his first major show since the conclusion of Peacock’s Bel-Air and Jamie McShane (Task, Wednesday) in Netflix’s Myron Bolitar in series regular roles. Ben McKenzie (Everyone is Lying to You for Money, Gotham) also joins the cast as a recurring guest star.
Myron Bolitar is a drama series inspired by Harlan Coben’s longest-running book series. After an injury ends his NBA dreams, Myron Bolitar (Colin Woodell) reinvents himself as a sports agent, using his charm, smarts, and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports. Saving his clients often means risking himself, making him a complex and intriguing character.
The previously announced cast includes KJ Apa and Diane Guerrero, with Fineman playing the role of Parker Quinn, a sports reporter for a major sports publication. She has built a stellar reputation through hard work and an undeniable passion for the game. Banks will play Dwayne Richmond, a charismatic tennis prodigy who experts anticipate will be among the best players in the world. He’s the star client at MB Sports, and the picture of cool, from his signature shoes to his trademarked sunglasses.
McShane will play Detective Ray Dimonte, a seasoned NYPD homicide detective, while McKenzie will portray Gavin Pierce, one of the biggest agents in sports. Gavin was Myron’s agent during Myron’s brief professional career and dropped Myron following his injury, leading to unresolved differences between the two.
The series will be co-showrun, written, and executive produced by David E. Kelley (Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Big Little Lies) and Kyle Long (Suits, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G). Additional executive producers include Matthew Tinker (Big Little Lies, Presumed Innocent) for David E. Kelley Prods, Coben for Final Twist Productions, and Rick Muirragui (Suits, Whiskey Cavalier). Greg Yaitanes (Presumed Innocent, House of the Dragon) will direct multiple episodes.
