A Legendary Fantasy Series Returns

Weis and Hickman’s writing is as engaging as ever, and they bring the world of Dragonlance to life with ease. The characters are well-developed and complex, and the plot is full of twists and turns that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

In an exclusive interview with IGN, Weis and Hickman spoke about the challenges of writing a new novel in a beloved series. ‘This scene was a lot of fun to write,’ Weis said, ‘Doppelgangers are among the deadliest monsters in D&D. They make excellent assassins because they acquire a person’s surface memories, as well as the physical features. This enables the shapeshifter to assume the aspect of a friend or loved one, thus enabling the monster to get close to their victim. To make matters worse, they are magic resistant, as Magius sadly discovers.’
