Passionfroot Secures $15M in Series A Funding to Expand its B2B Creator Marketplace to the US

Passionfroot, a German startup that has been making waves in the B2B creator marketplace space, has announced that it has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. This significant investment will enable the Berlin-based startup to expand its operations to the US, where it plans to open an office in New York, as well as establish a presence in São Paulo.

With this funding, Passionfroot’s co-founder and CEO, Jen Phan, will be moving to New York to lead the company’s expansion efforts in the US. The startup will also be increasing its headcount from 15 employees to a larger team.

Passionfroot’s B2B creator marketplace connects brands with creators who can produce high-quality content that resonates with their target audience. As AI continues to transform the way businesses operate, Passionfroot is poised to capitalize on the growing demand for creator-led marketing strategies.

According to Phan, the increasing use of AI is making it easier for companies to build products, but it’s also creating a crowded and noisy market. To cut through the noise, companies are turning to creators who can help them improve brand recall and recognition. ‘Every head of marketing or growth leader I’m talking to is saying really the same thing: AI is commoditizing software and flooding every category with new products, features, and launches,’ Phan said.

Passionfroot has already seen significant growth in the past year, with its revenue increasing by 13 times. The company has also onboarded high-profile clients such as ElevenLabs, Figma, Replit, Framer, and Gamma. Its AI agent, Zest, has been instrumental in helping brands create, execute, and monitor the performance of campaigns.

Passionfroot’s proprietary creator graph is based on data from thousands of campaigns and helps brands find suitable creators both inside and outside the platform. The startup also offers a wallet that companies can use to pay creators across the globe and measure their expenditure.

With the funding, Passionfroot is planning to build AI features for creators, such as helping them with monetization tips and content ideas. The company is also working on helping its clients measure how a campaign is impacting AI citations and how their brand appears in AI-powered answers.

Passionfroot’s Series A funding round also saw participation from existing investors Creandum, Supernode Global, and s16vc. This brings the company’s total funding to over $21 million.

As the creator economy continues to grow, Passionfroot is well-positioned to capitalize on the trend. With its AI-powered platform and expanding team, the startup is set to make a significant impact in the B2B creator marketplace space.

In related news, other creator platforms like Substack and Beehiiv are also moving to help creators find better monetization opportunities. Beehiiv recently launched a new community and ad marketplace, while Substack has introduced subscriber-only perks within newsletters.
