At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, a new trailer for the highly anticipated series ‘Lanterns’ was unveiled, and it’s clear that the action-packed drama is gearing up to take the world by storm.
While the series is set in a small Nebraska town, where recruit John Stewart (played by Aaron Pierre) and mentor legend Hal Jordan (played by Kyle Chandler) deal with a small murder, the latest trailer reveals that the action is about to take a dramatic turn – heading into space.
One of the most exciting aspects of the new trailer is the appearance of none other than Sinestro, a fan favorite character from the DC Comics universe. In the show, Jordan is training Stewart to be the ultimate intergalactic cop, and it’s clear that the stakes are about to get a lot higher.
A Glimpse into the World of ‘Lanterns’
During the panel, two clips were shown, giving fans a glimpse into the world of ‘Lanterns’. The first clip shows Jordan and Stewart in a high-speed car chase, with Jordan flipping Stewart the ring while driving. The scene is intense and action-packed, with Stewart activating the ring and saving the day.
The second clip is equally impressive, showing Hal Jordan in a police station, grilling a suspect who he believes is an alien. With his exceptional detective skills, Hal is able to detect that the suspect is indeed an alien, and he takes action to save the day.
The Cast and Crew of ‘Lanterns’
The cast of ‘Lanterns’ is impressive, with Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jason Ritter, Nathan Fillion, Chris Coy, and Paul Ben-Victor all set to make appearances in the series.
The series is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, with Chris Mundy serving as showrunner and Damon Lindelof and Tom King co-creating the series. The pilot episode is co-written by Mundy, Lindelof, and King, with James Hawes directing the first two episodes and Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct.
‘Lanterns’ was shot at the Warner lot, but all over the California state, including Barstow and the Santa Clarita area.
The series premieres on August 16, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s in store for John Stewart and Hal Jordan as they take on the challenges of being intergalactic cops.
