The International Competition at the Italian Global Series is divided into three categories: Drama, Comedy, and Limited Series.

In each category, series can win a Maximo Award for Best Series, Best Lead Actor, Best Lead Actress, and Best Creator/Director. There is also a Special Jury Prize, which will be awarded to the standout series of the festival. The Drama section of the competition features a range of exciting productions, including the debut screening of Benidorm Is Murder, a UK/Spanish production directed by Simon Delaney and starring John Hannah.

The medical series Emergency 53 from Brazil will also make its International Premiere at the festival, along with the political spy thriller Secret Service, directed by James Marsh and starring Gemma Arterton.
