Chris Kattan Returns to Horror with Feature ‘Trash Queen’
Chris Kattan has boarded the indie horror feature ‘Trash Queen,’ marking his return to the genre for the first time since starring in the 1999 cult pic ‘House on Haunted Hill.’
Kattan joins a talented cast that includes Matty Cardarople (Stranger Things, Fallout), Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, Shivers), Jonathan Stoddard (The Roaring Games), Kevin Keppy (Smile), Emily Tullock, and Bonne-Vejou Dorrell.
The project is billed as a female horror comedy, with Gabrielle Rosson directing off a screenplay co-written with Emily Tullock. Practical effects are being used for an October shoot, courtesy of Joan of Art LLC and Trash Queen LLC.
We had the chance to speak with Chris Kattan about his return to the horror genre and his experience working on ‘Trash Queen.’
‘I’m really excited to be stepping back into the horror genre,’ Kattan told Deadline. ‘House on Haunted Hill has remained such a special film for me, and horror fans have always been incredibly loyal. Trash Queen has a fun, twisted energy that immediately drew me in, and I’m looking forward to audiences seeing what we’ve been cooking up.’
Kattan, a Groundlings alum, got his start in comedy as a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1996-2003. He created memorable characters like Mr. Peepers and Mango and went on to star in movies including A Night at the Roxbury, Corky Romano, and Monkeybone. Other notable feature credits include In Other Words, Hotel Transylvania 2, Undercover Brother, and The Ridiculous 6.
