Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows, and Dan Bucatinsky Join the Cast of Netflix’s ’13 Going on 30′ Reboot

Netflix’s highly anticipated reboot of the beloved 2004 romantic comedy ’13 Going on 30′ has just added three new talented actors to its cast. Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows, and Dan Bucatinsky have all come aboard for undisclosed roles in the upcoming film.

Ortega, known for her recent roles in CBS’s ‘Ghosts’ and Netflix’s ‘Big Mistakes,’ is perhaps best recognized for her major role on Fox’s ‘Welcome to Flatch.’ Her film credits include ‘Another Simple Favor’ and the dark comedy ‘Jackpot!, both directed by Paul Feig for Prime Video. She is repped by Gersh, Mosaic, and Granderson Des Rochers.

Meadows, a seasoned comedic actor, has been seen in a variety of iconic roles, including ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.’ He has also recently starred in CBS’s workplace comedy ‘DMV’ and has a recurring role on HBO Max’s ‘Peacemaker.’ Upcoming, he’ll be seen in A24’s ‘The Chaperones’ alongside Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson. He is repped by Reliant Talent and Brillstein.

Bucatinsky, known for his work as a writer and executive producer on HBO’s ‘The Comeback,’ has also recently appeared in the premium cabler’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series ‘Hacks.’ He is repped by Innovative, The Rosenzweig Group, and Myman Greenspan Fox.

The addition of these talented actors brings the total cast count to five, with Emily Bader, Logan Lerman, Adeline Rudolph, and Jessica Alba already on board. No word has been given on the sequel’s plot or character details, but production has officially kicked off in Los Angeles, with the original film’s star, Jennifer Garner, serving as an executive producer.

Garner, who played the grown-up version of the character in the original 2004 film, has also been involved in a stage musical adaptation of ’13 Going on 30,’ which premiered at the Manchester Opera House last fall. The original film, directed by Gary Winick, grossed roughly $96 million in theaters and has endured for decades as a cultural touchstone, making a reboot inevitable.

Brett Haley (Netflix’s ‘People We Meet on Vacation’) is directing the reboot from a script by Hannah Marks (Mark, Mary, & Some Other People) with revisions by Flora Greeson (The Princess Diaries 3). Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing for RK Films, with Garner exec producing alongside Donna Roth and Susan Arnold, Scott Hemming for Revolution Studios, Alyssa Altman for RK Films, Marks, Gina Matthews, and Ted Gidlow.

The 2004 rom-com, centered on a 13-year-old girl who magically wakes up as her 30-year-old self, must navigate adulthood while rediscovering who she really is. With a talented cast and a proven track record of success, Netflix’s ’13 Going on 30′ reboot is sure to captivate audiences worldwide.
