Apple Raises Prices for Apple Music and Apple One
In a move aimed at offsetting the rising costs of music licensing, Apple has announced price hikes for its popular music streaming service, Apple Music, as well as its Apple One bundles. The changes are set to take effect immediately, with the new prices reflecting the increased costs associated with music licensing.
According to Apple, the individual plan for Apple Music will now cost $11.99 a month, up from the previous price of $10.99. The family plan has also seen a price increase, with the new cost being $19.99 per month, up from $16.99. The student plan, meanwhile, will now cost $6.99 a month, up from $5.99.
The price hike for Apple Music follows a similar move by Spotify earlier this year, when the music streaming service increased the price of its Premium subscription from $11.99 to $12.99. However, Apple’s new prices for Apple Music remain cheaper than Spotify’s offering at this rate.
In addition to the price increase for Apple Music, Apple has also raised the prices of its Apple One bundles. The Family tier, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage, will now cost $27.95 per month, up from $25.95. The Premier plan, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, 2TB of iCloud storage, and Apple One features, will now cost $39.95 per month, up from $37.95.
The price increase for Apple Music and Apple One is the first since October 2022, when the individual plan for Apple Music rose by $1 from $9.99. The move comes as Apple continues to drive growth in its Services segment, with the company’s most recent earnings report (Q2 2026) delivering $111.2 billion in revenue and $29.6 billion in net profit.
Apple’s Services revenue, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and other offerings, reached a record-breaking $31 billion in the second quarter of 2026. The company’s impressive performance in this segment is expected to continue driving growth in the coming quarters, with the price increase for Apple Music and Apple One aimed at offsetting the rising costs associated with music licensing.
