Manosphere Influencers Andrew Tate & Brother Tristan Arrested In Miami
Andrew Tate, a prominent manosphere influencer, and his brother Tristan have been arrested in Miami, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. The brothers are being held in connection with sexual offense charges in the UK, although the exact nature of the charges has not been disclosed.
A spokesperson for the Department of Justice released a statement to CBS News, confirming that the U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Florida had arrested the Tate brothers in accordance with extradition proceedings. The statement read, ‘Today, U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Florida arrested Andrew and Tristan Tate pursuant to extradition proceedings. These arrests were made in accordance with the treaties and law enforcement agreements governing Justice Department extraditions.’
The Crown Prosecution Service in England has brought charges against the Tate brothers for a series of serious offenses, including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and offenses related to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. Andrew Tate is facing seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 additional charges for offenses relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Tristan Tate is facing one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. In a statement, Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service, said, ‘We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and offences relating to indecent images of a child. These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.’
The Tate brothers have a history of controversy, with Andrew Tate facing a $50 million deplatforming case against Meta, and Tristan Tate being sued by Meta for $100 million for his role in promoting hate speech on social media platforms.
