Vincent Pastore, the talented actor best known for his iconic role as Salvatore ‘Big Pussy’ Bonpensiero on HBO’s ‘The Sopranos,’ has sadly passed away at the age of 80. Born in the Bronx on July 14, 1946, Pastore’s life was marked by his incredible dedication to his craft, as well as his unwavering commitment to charitable causes.
After serving in the Vietnam War, Pastore went on to graduate from Pace University with a degree in drama. His early career saw him land minor roles in films like ‘Goodfellas,’ ‘Carlito’s Way,’ and ‘Men of Respect.’ However, it was his breakout performances in ‘The Jerky Boys: The Movie’ and the 1996 HBO TV movie ‘Gotti,’ alongside future ‘Sopranos’ co-stars Tony Sirico, Frank Vincent, and Dominic Chianese, that truly propelled him to stardom.
Of course, it was Pastore’s unforgettable portrayal of Big Pussy on ‘The Sopranos’ that cemented his status as a household name.
