Revolutionizing Vocaloid Music: Exclusive Details on BEYOND BORDERS Vol.1: EMERGE MODE MIKU

At the recent Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Dwango unveiled the first details and trailer for BEYOND BORDERS Vol.1: EMERGE MODE MIKU, an innovative collaboration EP that brings together virtual singer Hatsune Miku with renowned artists from around the world.

This ambitious project, spearheaded by Dwango in partnership with Nebula17 through their US Label, aims to introduce Vocaloid music to a new generation of global listeners. Hatsune Miku, the lead vocalist across all tracks, will be joined by an eclectic lineup of artists, including Grimes, slayr, MOLIY, Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, and XAMIYA.

The BEYOND BORDERS project is a testament to the growing influence of Vocaloid culture, which originated in Japan from the passion of producers creating music in their own bedrooms and on their own desktops. The collaboration brings together Grammy-winning and platinum-selling producers, including Grant Boutin, VADAKIN, MOMBRU, Byrd, and Xansei, alongside celebrated Vocaloid producers like jon-YAKITORY, SatapanP, and picco.

With a diverse range of genres, from electronic and alternative to hyperpop, rap, and experimental music, the EP promises to push the boundaries of what Vocaloid music can achieve. Songwriting contributions come from notable industry professionals, such as Charles ‘Scoot’ Anderson and Cecile Believe.

While no official release date has been announced beyond fall 2026, fans can look forward to a series of singles being released during the summer to build anticipation for the EP.
