Deadly Crowd Surge at Hindu Festival in India

A sudden and devastating crowd surge at a popular Hindu festival in eastern India’s Odisha state has left at least one person dead and many hospitalized, according to reports from the Press Trust of India.

The Odisha police provided a social media update stating that rescue teams provided first aid and oxygen to 33 people before transferring them to nearby hospitals.

The Odisha government has not yet commented on the incident or announced any measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
