Get Ready for the Beta Test
Activision and Infinity Ward have finally confirmed the dates for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta tests across PC, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox devices. The team behind this year’s first-person shooter installment revealed its playtest plans with a detailed blog post on their website.
Pre-Order Benefits and Beta Access
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 players who pre-ordered on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S can dive into the beta early access from August 21 – 25. This exclusive early access period will give players a head start on testing the game’s features and multiplayer modes. Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch 2 users will have to wait until the open beta takes place between August 28 – September 1.
The beta test is set to truly kick off immediately after the Call of Duty Next presentation comes to an end on August 21. The event promises ‘live gameplay, an in-depth briefing on the lineup of content coming to Modern Warfare 4’s Multiplayer, developer insights, and new reveals ahead of the beta.’
Exclusive Content and Vault Edition Operators
Players who pre-order the Vault Edition will unlock access to all the Vault Edition Operators, including Price, Valeria, Ghost, and Blix. This exclusive content will give players a unique advantage in the beta test and provide them with a deeper understanding of the game’s multiplayer mechanics.
As for the beta test itself, players can expect to experience a wide selection of brand-new Operators, including the ones mentioned above. The post promises 19 different weapons, 3v3 skirmishes, tanks, Kill Block, and more. Players will be able to build loadouts with the new Gunny system and test their mettle across new and returning modes, from Search & Destroy to the brand-new Kill Block, plus the Training Mobility Course.

The post also adds that more information on the upcoming tests will be revealed ‘soon.’ For now, players can look forward to the beta test and get a taste of what’s to come in the full game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches for PC, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S on October 23, 2026.
