The Carolina Panthers have unveiled ambitious plans to renovate their home stadium, Bank of America Stadium, in a move that is expected to inject $1.3 billion into the project.

Team owner David Tepper will be investing an additional $500 million into the renovations, which are set to be completed by 2030. The Panthers have also announced a long-term extension on a naming rights deal with Bank of America, a partnership that dates back to the 1990s and is among the longest-standing in the NFL.

It remains one of our city’s crown jewels as an important public asset supporting thousands of local jobs, strengthening our economy, and serving as a cornerstone of the Charlotte community that brings people to Charlotte and brings Charlotteans together.’

The Panthers’ stadium renovations are being phased to allow events to continue to be held at Bank of America Stadium throughout the project. The city of Charlotte has committed $650 million to the project, while the Panthers’ owner, David Tepper, will be investing an additional $500 million.

Renovation projects include enhancements to bowl seating, locker rooms, restrooms, scoreboards, retain, concessions, the press box, premium spaces, and more. New spaces showcased in the renderings include expanded gathering spaces on all levels, including a 500-level social patio with views of Charlotte.

The renderings also show a 4,400-capacity entertainment venue, which will host 80 to 100 annual events. The Panthers have already begun their training camp, with rookies reporting to training camp on Tuesday and veterans reporting on Wednesday.

Bank of America Stadium has been the home of the Panthers since 1996, after the team moved from Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. The stadium has undergone several renovations since its inception, with the latest project set to take the venue to the next level.
