July 23 (UPI) – Tropical Storm Bertha made landfall near the Texas-Louisiana state line on Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rains to parts of coastal Texas, according to forecasters.
The center of the storm was approximately 40 miles southeast of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and about 75 miles northeast of Galveston, as reported by the National Hurricane Center in its 1 p.m. CDT update.
