Arthur Brouwer, CEO of Dutch shipyard Heesen, notes that order books are full across the board, despite elements of global uncertainty, due to the post-Covid push. The demand for superyachts remains strong, with 1,024 vessels under construction or on order in 2022, a 24% increase from the previous year.
Luxurious Superyachts on Display
The Monaco Yacht Show featured an array of stunning superyachts, each with its unique features and opulent interior designs. Among the most impressive vessels was the 60-meter Lusine, with its sleek, sharp edge and ‘bird wing’ shape fusing three decks. The yacht’s interior, crafted by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, features a combination of materials, including white onyx, rare woods, and bespoke metals.
Another showstopper was the 62-meter Rio, constructed by Italian shipbuilder CRN and designed by Omega Architects. This vibrant, jungle-themed superyacht boasts a colorful interior, complete with hand-painted wall murals, fish panels, and animal-shaped ornaments. The vessel also features an on-board gym and beach club with a massage table.
The 45-meter sailing yacht Blush, built by Italian shipyard Perini Navi, has been exhibited at the Monaco Yacht Show several times since its delivery in 2007. With its striking red exterior and sporty lines, Blush is an eye-catching vessel that always stands out from the crowd.
The Heesen 50-meter Kinda, with its hybrid propulsion system, has been making waves at the show due to its impressive foredeck swimming pool and innovative design. The vessel features exterior and interior design from renowned luxury yacht designer Francesco Paszkowski.
Superyacht Market Resilience
Despite the global crises, the superyacht market remains resilient, with demand for these luxurious vessels showing no signs of slowing down. As the world’s wealthy individuals continue to invest in their dream superyachts, the market is expected to remain strong, with new buyers entering the market and existing ones upgrading their vessels.
The Monaco Yacht Show has once again demonstrated the allure and sophistication of the superyacht world, with its stunning vessels and luxurious amenities. As the yachting industry continues to evolve, one thing is certain – the superyacht market will remain a coveted destination for those seeking the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity.
