While the exact release time remains subject to change, the developer has provided a clear estimate for players to mark on their calendars.

- Japan: 12:30 pm (July 10)
- PT: 8:30 pm (July 9)
- ET: 11:30 pm (July 9)

Regarding data wipes, Bucky has emphasized that players do not need to wipe their existing saves for the 1.0 update. However, he strongly recommends that players consider starting anew due to the numerous changes and additions in the patch notes.
‘Players can continue their existing saves if they wish, as we want to respect the time and effort you have put in,’ Bucky explained. ‘However, due to the large number of changes to the game, including overhauls to mechanics and new content, we believe that starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld!’
Palworld’s 1.0 update is set to be a major milestone for the game, with over 27 pages of changes and additions detailed in the patch notes. This significant update promises to bring a wealth of new features and improvements to the game.
Palworld’s Early Access ride has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, with the game breaking sales and concurrent player number records since its launch on Steam and Xbox/PC in early 2024. The game’s massive success has led to Pocketpair signing a deal with Sony to form a new business called Palworld Entertainment, tasked with expanding the IP.
Palworld’s launch has also been marred by controversy, with comparisons being made between the game’s Pals and Pokémon. While some accused Pocketpair of ‘ripping off’ Pokémon designs, the developer has avoided a copyright infringement lawsuit by instead opting for a patent-based approach. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a lawsuit seeking 5 million yen (approximately $30,000) each, plus late payment damages and an injunction against Palworld.
As Palworld continues to grow and evolve, the 1.0 update promises to be a major step forward for the game. With its significant changes and additions, this update is set to bring a fresh experience to players, and Pocketpair’s recommendations on data wipes offer players a choice to consider.
The Palworld 1.0 update is set to be a major milestone for the game, and players can look forward to a wealth of new features and improvements in the coming days.
