During my recent visit, I had the opportunity to stay in a stunning three-bedroom garden flat, nestled just a 10-minute walk from the heart of Oxford. The flat, which can accommodate up to six people, boasts a cozy sitting room, Scandi-style minimalist bedrooms, and a well-appointed kitchen perfect for whipping up a quick cup of coffee or a late-night snack.

The flat’s pièce de résistance is its beautiful courtyard, which provides a serene and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Imagine sipping a cup of coffee or enjoying a glass of wine while listening to the sweet songs of the European robin – it’s the perfect setting for a writer’s retreat.

But what truly sets this flat apart is its proximity to some of Oxford’s most famous landmarks. The iconic Radcliffe Camera library, with its stunning domed roof, is just a short stroll away, and the Turf Tavern, tucked away down a narrow alley, is the perfect spot to grab a pint and eavesdrop on university gossip.

For literary souvenir shopping, look no further than Scriptum, a treasure trove of inkwells, fountain pens, and leather-bound journals. I even picked up a beautiful feather quill pen for my daughter, which has become her most treasured possession.

One of the highlights of our stay was exploring the Port Meadow area, which offers a range of restaurants and pubs accessible via a walking path along the eastern bank of the River Thames. The Medley, with its phenomenal pizza and dog-watching opportunities, was a particular favorite.

As I reflect on our stay in Oxford, I am reminded of the city’s unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you’re a writer, a historian, or simply someone looking for a unique getaway, Oxford has something to offer.

So if you’re looking for the perfect writers’ retreat in Oxford, look no further than this charming garden flat. With its beautiful courtyard, proximity to famous landmarks, and range of literary delights, it’s the perfect haven for anyone looking to tap into their creative side.

And as for the third bedroom, well, let’s just say it’s a hidden gem that’s worth discovering for yourself.
