The highly anticipated Palworld Trading Card Game (TCG) has officially launched, and with it, a wave of scalpers has emerged, seeking to capitalize on the game’s popularity by selling cards for exorbitant prices on online marketplaces like eBay.
Developed by Pocketpair and in partnership with Bushiroad, the Palworld TCG was first announced back in January, generating significant buzz among fans of the Pokémon franchise, to which it bears many similarities.
The first wave of cards, known as the Dawn of Palpagos, was released on July 30, 2026, and as expected, it has attracted a large following of collectors and enthusiasts eager to get their hands on the game’s unique cards.
Scalpers Cash In on Palworld TCG Launch
As spotted by GamesRadar, eBay has been flooded with listings for Palworld TCG cards, including booster box cases and individual cards, with prices ranging from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.
One notable example is the Cattiva Gold Soul Card, which is reportedly the rarest card in the collection and has been selling for an astonishing $3,997.98, despite being available for purchase before the official launch date of July 30.
A Jormuntide Ignis card sold for $1,300 even earlier on July 24, while a master case containing three regular cases sold for a staggering $5,990 just 24 hours after launch.
These prices are not new to fans of the Pokémon franchise, which has seen its fair share of card price inflation over the years. However, the rapid escalation of prices on eBay has still managed to shock many fans, who are eager to get their hands on the game’s unique cards.
Successful prices have seemingly come down in the few days since collectors and scalpers started receiving their orders, with the Gold Cattiva Pals now going for around $1,000 each.
Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld, has reported that it had achieved 3.5 million packs ordered as of July 9, just weeks before the game’s launch, indicating a strong demand for the game’s cards.
The Dawn of Palpagos set features more than 50 Pals with original illustrations, with a second booster set, Legends Awaken, set to follow in October.
In a statement, Pocketpair expressed its excitement about the game’s launch, saying, ‘We’re thrilled to see the Palworld community come together and share their passion for the game.’
