Indian streaming giant Sony LIV has taken a significant step into the realm of animation by greenlighting ‘The Legend of Karna’, a new animated series from the renowned production house, Graphic India.

Conceived by the talented duo of Sharad Devarajan and Jeevan J. Kang, this epic saga is inspired by the ancient Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. With a rich narrative that spans centuries, the series promises to transport viewers to a world of mythical proportions.

‘The Legend of Karna’ revolves around the enigmatic Karna, a warrior born to the Sun God Surya and Kunti, but raised in a humble charioteer’s household. Gifted with unparalleled mastery over the bow, Karna embarks on a journey that will take him from the dusty village workshops to the grand halls of Hastinapura, the seat of the mighty empire.

As Karna navigates the complexities of his destiny, he must confront the harsh realities of a world governed by birthright and lineage. With politics, prophecy, and hidden truths converging, Karna’s odyssey becomes a poignant exploration of exceptional talent, unwavering loyalty, and the enduring struggle for recognition.

Devarajan’s passion for storytelling is evident in his work, which spans multiple genres and mediums. As the creator of the Indian superhero series ‘Chakra – The Invincible’ for Cartoon Network India in 2013, Devarajan has collaborated with the legendary Stan Lee, earning him the nickname ‘the Indian Stan Lee’. His credits include producing the Netflix live-action film ‘The Archies’ and the critically acclaimed series ‘The Legend of Hanuman’, which has become one of the top-rated shows on Disney+ Hotstar.

With ‘The Legend of Karna’, Graphic India and Sony LIV are poised to bring this epic tale to life in a way that will captivate audiences worldwide. The series is set to debut on July 31, promising an unforgettable experience for fans of animation and adventure.
